Testing information for Fall 2023

Testing at SRHS will occur during the following specific dates. Please note that the State of Florida requires students in 11th and 12th grade to earn a passing score on the FSA or F.A.S.T ELA Reading assessment as well as the Algebra I (or Geometry) EOC. For Students in 9th and 10th grade, the same requirements applySAT and ACT performance can earn students a concordant score in Math and/or Reading for graduation. Please note that testing begins at approximately 8 a.m. each scheduled day.

Week of Aug. 14: All 9th and 10th grade students will take F.A.S.T. PM1 (progress monitoring 1) assessment. They will take PM2 in December and PM3 in May 2024.

Sept. 11-29: Assessment window for FSA ELA (12th grade only), Algebra 1, and Geometry retakes. Also window for F.A.S.T. ELA retake for 11th and 12th graders as well as B.E.S.T. Algebra 1 and Geometry EOC retakes.

Note: Last school year the state of Florida adopted new standards for ELA and Math. FSA assessments were designed to measure mastery on previous standards. F.A.S.T./B.E.S.T. assessments are designed for the current state standards. Students who tested previously on the FSA standards are eligible to test on both the FSA and B.E.S.T. assessments. Seniors will take the “new” tests first which are one-day tests, for which results are reported within 48 hours. If they do not demonstrate proficiency on those, they will then be given opportunity to take the FSA test, which is three days and takes approximately two months for the state to score due to the writing component.  The same applies for students who took the FSA Algebra 1 and/or Geometry EOC prior to the introduction of the B.E.S.T. version of the test in May 2023.

October 11: Seniors who need the reading and/or math score for graduation will take the SAT School Day, free of charge.  Additionally, all 10th grade students will take the PSAT during the school day. Note that the math section of the PSAT can count for the math testing graduation requirement, however, the reading cannot.

Late October/Early November: ACT non-reportable for Seniors, free of charge. The district is paying for seniors who still need reading or math testing score for graduation to take the ACT-NR during the school day. The NR (non-reportable) is only good for graduation requirements and the score cannot be reported to colleges for admissions consideration. All students receive extended time in each section of the ACT-NR.

December: Retake window for FAST ELA plus Algebra 1, Geometry, Biology 1, and US History EOCs. ELA will be offered during first week of December, Math during second week, and Biology/US History the third week.

  • Tuesday, Dec. 12: Florida Civics Literacy Exam administered to all Seniors enrolled in Government class.  Earning a passing score on the FCLE is a COLLEGE graduation requirement for any students attending a state college or university. Passing it during 12th grade in high school satisfies that college graduation requirement.

Please note that make-up opportunities for state tests (FAST, FSA, EOCs) will be available on a very limited basis.  For SAT, PSAT, and ACT, those tests will only be administered on the dates noted above. There will NOT be makeup dates for those three assessments.

SAT and ACT tests are administered on Saturdays and students must register for those online through those testing programs. Your student’s counselor can assist in accessing registration information and deadlines. Please note that registration deadlines are typically one month prior to the test date. You can also click on the links below.
