IB and Pre-IB applications are open and close on Feb. 15.

One of the most popular Exchange youth projects, the Youth of the Year Award recognizes hard-working high school students who attain high levels of scholastic achievement, community involvement and leadership. This proven program not only rewards outstanding young people, but also provides an incentive for other youngsters to strive for equally high levels of achievement. Students wrote an essay on the following theme.

A.C.E. stands for Accepting the Challenge of Excellence. This program recognizes high school students who have made a dramatic change in their attitude and performance during their high school years. These changes have enabled the students to overcome adversities and prepare for graduation.

It is my great honor and privilege as the Congressman representing the 8th Congressional district to once again announce the 2020 Congressional Medal of Merit for Outstanding Youth Leadership for Sebastian River High School is Christopher Cordner.

The Rotary Club of Orchid Island is pleased to announce that its November 2019 Student of the Month is Madison Uhle of Sebastian River High School.

The 2020 Brian Green IB Scholarship recipient is Rian Butler. Rian is attending the University of Central Florida. Congratulations Rian!

Congratulations to the Sebastian Exchange Club Students of the Month Zoe and Alexander.

Over the 2019 summer, four SRHS students, along with Melissa Sleeper (science teacher at Gifford Middle), attended a 2-day workshop 'Mission Patch' at Kennedy Space Center. These students, along with astronaut, Mike Foreman, designed an experiment that was selected as a FINALIST to fly on the International Space Station (ISS) next Spring!!!

Congratulations to Blake! He is the 2019 Brian Green IB Scholarship recipient. Blake will attend the University of Central Florida.

SRHS student was one of 34 students in Florida to receive this honor. He has been accepted to the University of Florida to major in civil engineering. His favorite subject at Sebastian River High School (SRHS) is math, where he is a member of the math competition team, and his community service includes being president of "It's in the Bag," a student led and operated initiative, which provides meals to more than 400 students in our school district each week. When Matt isn't working hard on his scholarly duties, he enjoys fishing.

Katelyn, an IB Senior, has been selected for the prestigious 2018 Florida Regional JSEHS Extended Essay.

The students in the IB Program at SRHS partner with schools to support and enrich their community.
