2020-2021 Testing Information

The fall window for state assessments – including FSA Reading/Writing, Algebra I, US History, Geometry, and Biology – begins on Monday, Sept. 14.  The first seven days will be used for FSA Reading/Writing, which is a graduation requirement. All students who would have taken it in the spring of 2020 have been scheduled, regardless of their instructional model choice. We wanted to afford each student the opportunity to take it now.

Testing during this time is OPTIONAL for all eligible students. If you feel your student is not prepared to take the assessment, or do not feel comfortable having your student test at this time due to COVID-19 concerns, especially parents of Option 2 and 3 students but also Option 1 students, we understand. Please know that there will be additional opportunities during second semester and next summer for your student to take the assessments.  All Testing must be done on campus during the school day and masks will be required of all students at all times during testing.

Geometry, US History, and Biology testing will be offered on Sept. 24 and 25. These are voluntary to take for those who were in the courses for the 2019-2020 school year. Please note that in order to earn a Scholar Designation on their diploma, students must earn a passing score on these specific exams. Geometry, US History, and Biology are NOT required for graduation but are for the Scholar Designation.  These EOCs are by sign-up only. Sign-ups for these EOCs closed on Sept 18. Students will have another opportunity in the Spring or Summer of 2021.

Algebra I testing will be done Sept. 29 and 30 for students who need a passing score to graduate. However, the state of Florida has decided to accept a passing score on the Geometry EOC as a concordant score for the Algebra I. If your student is Option 1, they will be scheduled into a testing session. If your student is Option 2 or 3 and you want them to test during this time, scan the QR Code on the screen to link to our sign-up.

For Option 1 students, they received their FSA Reading/Writing locations during 7th period on Sept. 9. Each Option 2 and Option 3 student received a FOCUS message from Mr. Van Brimmer on Sept. 9. If your student is an Option 2 or Option 3 student, please refer to the message they received through FOCUS to get your student’s assigned dates, times, and lab locations.

If your student is an Option 2 or Option 3 student and comes to campus for testing they will need to sign in and out through the front office.
